Storyboarding in UE4
These storyboards are for a self-directed short film project. They’re captured directly in the Unreal Engine - with occasional augmentation in Photoshop.
The beauty of working directly in-engine is that shots and sequences can be composed here in the environment where the action will ultimately be ‘filmed’, meaning there’s no disconnect between planning and execution.
I created the terrain by importing real-world height data from terrain.party to UE4. Rocks and foliage are from SilverTM’s Red Desert Pack.
The film’s narrative is heavily driven by a sprawling, epic instrumental piece written by a band called The Inkling - (I really enjoy audio / visual synchronicity).
A driver desperately attempts to run the gauntlet through an approximation of Monument Valley in his converted Charger - evading giant, inter-dimensional critters.
